Summary, etc. EL CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS SOBRE DESARROLLO ECONOMICO-CEDE- de la Facultad de Economía de la Universidad de los Andes, se fundó en 1958 con el objetivo de realizar investigaciones económicas tanto teóricas como empíricas.<br/>Las áreas de investigación de especial interés para el CEDE son: Macroeconomía, Teoría y Política Monetaria, Teorías del Crecimiento, Evaluación Socioeconómica de Proyectos, Recursos Naturales y Medio Ambiente, Economía Agrícola, Demografía, Economía de la Educación, Economía Laboral, Pobreza y Distribución del Ingreso, Economía de la Salud, Economía Urbana, Regulación Económica, Comercio Exterior, Finanzas Públicas, Desarrollo y Organización Industrial, Violencia y Economía Institucional.<br/>El CEDE tiene dentro de sus objetivos difundir los trabajos realizados por sus investigadores en las áreas mencionadas, como otros trabajos de interés académico y científico en general. Para el logro de tal propósito, se publica semestralmente la revista "Desarrollo y Sociedad", así como libros y la serie "Documentos CEDE".<br/>La serie "Documentos CEDE", difunde entre la comunidad académica y la profesión en general, los resultados de las principales investigaciones desarrolladas en el CEDE. Sin embargo, las opiniones expresadas en ellos son responsabilidad exclusiva de los autores y no comprometen al Centro.
