Summary, etc. El negocio cafetero en Colombia se ha visto abocado en los últimos años a cambios dramáticos en el mercado mundial. Desde julio de 1989, el mercado dejó de operar bajo las cláusulas económicas del Acuerdo Internacional del Café y los intentos por renegociar un nuevo Acuerdo fracasaron definitivamente en marzo de 1993. La perspectiva hacia el futuro es que el mercado siga operando de manera libre. Ante estas realidades, el Gobierno Nacional decidió crear la Comisión Mixta para el estudio del café, con el fin de analizar el estado de la economía cafetera y de ponerla en perspectiva frente a los desarrollos del mercado internacional.
