| Summary, etc. | Este relato de Don Eugenio Díaz fue escrito hace casi 170 años. En él cuenta cómo era la vida de Santafé de Bogotá en esa época; más aún, cómo eran sus noches, cuando no era aún la metrópoli que hoy admiramos y sufrimos, sino una pequeña aldea en la que la autoridad civil y militar se hacia sentir. La anécdota (el regreso al convento de un curita que se ha aficionado al juego de cartas), está narrada de modo pintoresco o y cálido: sus imágenes son graciosas y originales. A don Eugenio Díaz le debemos el haber escrito una de las primeras y más admirables novelas colombianas del siglo XIX : Manuela. |
