Los grandes acontecimientos de la historia suelen ser descritos desde distintas ópticas: por sus protagonistas, por la prensa, por los cronistas, por los historiadores, por los analistas, e incluso, a veces, por los poetas, como ocurrió desde la época de Homero. <br/>También, a partir de la década de 1830, empezó a hacerse un registro fotográfico de muchos eventos, y desde finales de ese mismo siglo, el recuento fílmico. Pero desde nates de que se inventaran las técnicas y procedimientos para captar de forma instantánea una imagen fija o en movimiento, hubo artistas (pintores, escultores y hasta tejedores) que se esforzaron en plasmar sobre la piedra, la madera, el vidrio, el gobelino, el papel o el lienzo, las imágenes de los más significativos eventos y sus protagonistas. |
