| Summary, etc. | El libro de Francesco Forte se encuadra en una gran tradición de tratados magistrales de economía política en los que se ofrece a los lectores una presentación relativa o amigable del material estándar, como en los libros de texto, y análisis y pensamientos profundos desarrollados en el transcurso del tiempo o para el propósito del propio autor. Una fortaleza particular del análisis es la forma en que combina una perspectiva moderna sobre la economía pública, entendida en términos generales, y la continuidad con las contribuciones de académicos del pasado. Esto es especialmente importante con respecto a la tradición italiana, cuya reputación se debe mucho a su descubrimiento, en una etapa temprana de su pensamiento, por James Buchanan.
